At Core Focus Tutoring, I am dedicated and passionate about fostering a love for learning in every child. I will help create engaging, personalized experiences that help students thrive academically and build confidence.
Founder and Tutor
My name is Jason Mathewson, and I am passionate about helping young learners succeed! As a certified teacher with a Master’s in Education and Special Education from Nazareth University, I bring years of experience teaching Pre-K and K-5 students.
My teaching approach is rooted in making learning fun, personalized, and confidence-building. Specializing in reading and writing, I tailor lessons to meet each child’s unique needs and strengths, drawing on my deep understanding of developmental milestones to create engaging, effective learning experiences.
My mission is to foster a lifelong love for learning while helping students build a strong academic foundation. I believe every child has the potential to thrive, and I am committed to guiding them every step of the way.
What Programs Do We Use?
At Core Focus Tutoring, we use programs like CommonLit and Khan Academy to help support your child’s reading growth.
CommonLit provides interesting, age-appropriate reading passages that build comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking in a way that’s engaging and easy to follow.
Khan Academy adds another layer by offering interactive lessons and practice activities to strengthen essential literacy skills.
By combining these tools with my personalized teaching approach, we make sure each child gets the support they need to become a confident, capable reader while keeping the process fun and meaningful.
